During this 4-hour hands-on workshop with USGBC TRUE rating system staff and guest speakers, learn about the importance of recycling markets, steps for collecting the right data, the 10 R’s of the zero-waste hierarchy, and tools for effectively communicating results to build support for your waste program. From local resources to global initiatives, the team will provide an overview of opportunities and funding available to take your project to the next level.
The interactive workshop will explore USGBC’s TRUE Certification, a zero-waste program, and equip attendees with the essential tools to revolutionize their waste management approach, transforming it into a commodity-driven, resource-centric, zero-waste plan that contributes to a circular economy both locally and globally. Focus will be on the key components of the TRUE Rating System which include training, redesigning systems and materials, an Environmental Preferred Purchasing plan, and delving deep into the financial benefits of zero waste. Case studies for TRUE for facilities along with TRUE for Events and TRUE for Construction will be reviewed.

The Green Schools Conference (GSC) brings together everyone involved in creating and advocating for green schools, with a focus on those leading their schools and school systems toward whole school sustainability. The three-day event provides a platform for the green schools community that inspires and facilitates the progress of the green schools movement.
